Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We propose a method for removing shadow/shading from a texture image for a 3D shape model of an architecture. To separate effects of shadows/shadings from a single image, we approximate pixel values by Oren-Nayar reflection model. For the fitting process, we need directions of light source and normal vectors of each pixel. The former can be estimated by calculating the direction of the sun and the latter can be estimated from the geometrical model of the scene. The effects of shadows/shadings are removed from each pixel using the the estimated reflection model.
