Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Previous studies have suggested that the temporal structure of sounds is processed in the primary auditory cortex. In the present study, we recorded the neuronal responses to the two-tone sequences in the auditory cortex of anesthetized guinea pigs with optical imaging method. The results showed that the latency of the response was prolonged by the existence of the preceding tone. Further, the stimulus of the same frequency pair produced longer latency than that of the different frequency pair.
