Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A kind of the glial cells, astrocyte has glutamate receptors as well as neuronal cells and talks with neurons. In the culture of astrocytes, they have spontaneous [Ca^<2+>]i oscillation and glutamate can induce the several patterns of [Ca^<2+>]i responses. There are four patterns. One of them is a sustained oscillation, another is a dumped oscillation, step rise response and the sustained oscillation, whose frequency gradually decreases. In the present study, we constituted the model which can simulate the glutamate-induced [Ca^<2+>] oscillation and spontaneous [Ca^<2+>]i oscillation observed in the cultured astrocytes using De-Young and Keizer s model. While the model could produce a sustained oscillation, is a dumped oscillation and step rise response, the model could not produce the spontaneous [Ca^<2+>]i oscillation in the astrocytes. Hence, we applied the term of [Ca^<2+>]i activated PLCδ to the model and could produce tbc spontaneous [Ca^<2+>]i oscillation. Therefore, the feed forward process of [IP_3] as the process which PLCδ involves is necessary to have a spontaneous [Ca^<2+>]i oscillation.
