Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) It has been demonstrated that correlated pre- and postsynaptic activity can induce either LTP or LTD, depending on the precise timing of pre- and postsynaptic activity, and a time window for LTP that exists on the activated pathway is flanked by two time windows for LTD and contribution of inhibitory synaptic inputs to this Mexican-hat type synaptic plasticity is suggested. In this paper a model neuron with soma, dendrite and spine is used in computer simulations to examine the Mexican-hat type time window during which the pairing of EPSPs and action potentials can produce such synaptic modifications. Computer simulations show that feedback and feedforward GABAergic inputs contribute not only to the regulate the polarity of synaptic modifications according to pattern of postsynaptic Ca^<2+> concentration via the interval between pre- and postsynaptic activity.
