Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper proposes Modular Netowork SOM (MNSOM) , in which the neuronal units of Self-Organizing Maps (SOM) are replaced by a set of Multi-Layer Perceptrons (MLP) . In order to show the effectiveness of MNSOM, MNSOM was made for a family of cubic functions, as well as a group of functions that resemble direction-sensitive simple cells in the visual cortex.
