Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We propose a network for detection of an approaching object with simple shape recognition based on the visual systems of lower animals. The network was constructed with simple analog circuits. The test chip was fabricated in the 1.2-μm CMOS technology. The experimental and simulation results showed that the network can detect the approaching velocity and direction, and that can recognize simultaneously a simple shape such as circle, square, triangle and rectangle.
