Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems that realize a high bit rate data transmission with multiple antennas at both transmitter and receiver have drawn much attention for high spectral efficiencies. In MIMO systems Maximum Likelihood Detection (MLD) is known as an optimal method for signal detection. However, the main drawback of the MLD is its high complexity. In this paper, first we propose a reduced complexity signal detection scheme that combines the minimum mean square error (MMSE) detection and the MLD based on the received signal to interference plus noise ratio (SINR). We also propose a reduced complexity signal detection scheme that combines the ordered successive MMSE detection (OSD) and MLD based on the received SINR. We refer to these detection schemes as the MMSE-MLD and the OSD-MLD. Simulation results show that the proposed MMSE-MLD and OSD-MLD can attain almost identical bit error rate (BER) to that of the MLD with less complexity.
