Abstract(in English) | This paper proposes hybrid automatic repeat request (ARQ) using cyclic-redundancy check (CRC)-based misinterpretation avoidance of Acknowledgement/Negative-acknowledgment (ACK/NACK) bits in medium access control (MAC) layer. In the proposed scheme, misinterpretation errors in the feedback control channel conveying ACK/NACK bits are detected by using the CRC code and then, the packet is retransmitted irrespective of decoding results of ACK/NACK bits when the result of CRC is no-good. Consequently, the proposed scheme can avoid the packet loss caused by the misinterpretation of NACK as ACK in the MAC layer hybrid ARQ. Furthermore, in our proposal, by introducing ACK/NACK bit repetition in the proposed scheme, we can detect the misinterpretation of ACK as NACK to reduce the redundant packet retransmission. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme can achieve the low latency without the influence of ACK/NACK bit misinterpretation, where the 95% of the packet transmission delay time is 6.5 msec in the proposed scheme while that of the conventional two-loop ARQ in the MAC-layer and radio link control layer is 87 msec (round trip delay of MAC-layer ARQ and RLC-layer ARQ is 3 and 100 msec, respectively, and the percentage of NACK is 10 %). |
