Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, the superimposed pilot channel estimation was proposed for wireless communications, where the pilot symbol sequence is superimposed on a data symbol sequence and transmitted together. In the superimposed pilot channel estimation, the receiver correlates the received signal sequence with the pilot symbol sequence, and obtains the channel estimate. The systems with the superimposed channel estimation has a high spectral efficiency because of the simultaneous transmission of the pilot symbol sequence and the data symbol sequence. However, the correlation between the pilot symbol sequence and the data symbol sequence deteriorates the channel estimation accuracy. The use of the longer frame, that is, the use of the longer pilot sequence results in the lower correlation between the pilot symbol sequence and the data symbol sequence. However, the use of the longer frame also results in the lower channel tracking capability. In this report, we propose a selective superimposed pilot channel estimation scheme where we select a pilot sequence from the set of the pilot sequences prepared beforehand for each frame so that the correlation between the pilot symbol sequence and the data symbol sequence becomes low. By using the selected pilot sequence that has a low correlation with a data symbol sequence, the proposed channel estimation can achieve the good channel estimation even when the frame length is not long. Thus, we can apply the proposed channel estimation to fast fading environments. From the computer simulations, we show that the proposed channel estimation can achieve the good channel estimation even under the fast fading environments.
