BER Performance of DS-CDMA with Frequency-domain Equalization using Pilot-assisted Channel Estimation

Abstract(in English) In direct sequence code division multiple access (DS-CDMA), frequency-domain equalization (FDE) based on minimum mean square error (MMSE) criterion can be applied to exploit the channel frequency-selectivity and therefore much improved bit error rate (BER) performance than using the conventional rake combining. MMSE-FDE requires accurate frequency-domain channel estimation. In this paper, decision-feedback pilot-assisted frequency-domain channel estimation suitable for FDE is proposed. The achievable BER performance using the proposed channel estimation is evaluated by computer simulation and compared with that of conventional rake combining.
