Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A coherent Rake combiner is employed as the channel matched filter in a DS-CDMA mobile radio. However, as the number of propagation paths increases, the coherent Rake receiver incurs the serious degradation in the bit error rate (BER) performance. Recently, frequency-domain equalization employed in multi-carrier code division multiple access (MC-CDMA) has been gaining an increasing popularity. In this paper, frequency-domain equalization achieving frequency diversity effect while suppressing inter-path-inference (IPI) is applied to a DS-CDMA system and its BER performance is evaluated by computer simulation. It is found by computer simulation that BER performance achievable with joint use of frequency-domain equalization and antenna receive diversity can be significantly improved in a severe frequency-selective fading channel.
