Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper examines a diversity technique for a receiver to improve bit error rate (BER) performances in MIMO (Multi-Input Multi-Output) systems. We propose a receiving antenna selection technique using the channel matrix eigenvalue (RAS-E technique). We further propose a receiving antenna combination technique using the channel matrix eigenvalue (RAC-E technique) as a method for using received signals in all receiving antennas effectively. BER performances when using the RAS-E and RAC-E techniques under Rayleigh fading channels are then compared. The BER performances show that application of the RAS-E and RAC-E techniques is effective for improving BER performances. Furthermore, it becomes apparent that the effectiveness for improving BER performances when applying the RAC-E technique is greater than when applying the RAS-E technique. It is therefore clear that RAC-E is a technique enables the signals received in all receiving antennas to be used effectively.
