A Transmission Diversity Scheme for Avoiding Hand Blocking

Abstract(in English) The critical decline of radiation efficiency for mobile telephones causes by not only human head but also hand blocking. We propose transmission diversity scheme by adopting the circulator which doesn't require additional electric circuit in order to avoid hand blocking. An improvement of radiation efficiency has been realized because reflected power from main antenna is fed to sub antenna through the circulator. In this paper, we have described the theory of this proposal and clarified experimentally improvement effect of radiation efficiency.
