Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we have considered the attenuation characteristics of SAR in a lossy media with regard to the distance between an antenna and the media. Analysis and measurement were performed by using a dipole antenna at 900MHz and a COST 244 cube phantom. From this, we introduce an expression representing the attenuation characteristics of SAR, which takes a loss due to a spatial spread of electromagnetic energy into consideration. In the case where an antenna is set at a spacing of more than λ/2π from the media, the attenuation characteristics of SAR are obtained from those of plane waves in the lossy media. In the case where a half-wavelength dipole antenna is located close to the media at a distance of less λ/2π, the attenuation characteristics of SAR are calculated from an expression that includes a loss caused by a spread of energy as a cylindrical wave. Moreover, when the length of antenna becomes short, it is found that a spatial attenuation factor caused by a spherical wave should be taken into account.
