| Abstract(in English) | This paper investigates an effect of Fast Sector Selection (FSS) considering time-varying shadowing variations in addition to the instantaneous fading variations assuming low-mobility users in the forward link using the hybrid ARQ in MAC layer by the implemented OFCDM (Orthogonal Frequency and Code Division Multiplexing) transceiver with 100MHz bandwidth. The experimental results elucidated that for RT (Real Time) type traffic data with the strict delay requirement, the FSS with the sector selection interval of 5 msec was effectual especially when the shadowing correlation between 2 sectors was large or shadowing variation speed was high. Consequently, it was shown that FSS with the sector selection interval of 5 msec could reduce the required average received SNR (Signal to Noise power Ratio) at the residual average packet error rate of 10^<-2> by approximately 0.5 and 1.0 dB compared to slow sector selection with the selection interval of 100 msec for the shadowing correlation of 0.5 and 1.0, respectively. |
