Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper presents field experimental results on the Coherent Adaptive Antenna Array Diversity (CAAAD) receiver coupled with inter-cell site diversity in the reverse link cellular environments with the cell distance of approximately 1.7 km and the antenna elevation at base transceiver station of approximately 50 m. Experimental results elucidate that the receiver beam patterns were accurately generated both in two cell sites during inter-cell site diversity at the vehicular speed of approximately 30 km/h although the received signal-to-interference power ratio (SIR) of the cell site with larger path-loss becomes lower than the target value since SIR-based fast transmission power control (TPC) was used. Moreover, we clarified that the required average transmission power of CAAAD receiver employing inter-cell site diversity at the average block error rate (BLER) of 10^2 was reduced by approximately 0.8-2.0 dB compared to that with one-cell site connection case owing to the selection combining diversity effect
