Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The use of mobile phone in the train may do harm to the medical apparatus such as implanted pace makers. A safety communication system has been proposed by our laboratory, which allows passengers in the train to access the Internet by using optical wireless communication without disturbing medical apparatus. In this paper, we first developed an optical transmitter and a receiver for measurements of optical delay profiles and obtained the channel impulse responses by inverse Fourier transform of the optical frequency responses. We have also considered multipath propagation characteristics concerning the reflections due to windowpanes, walls and experimentally measured the reflection patterns of glass surface, stainless surface. The delay profiles near glass surface at different transmitter angles were also examined.
