A Study of the Way of Managing a Spreading Code for CDMA Systems

Abstract(in English) In W-CDMA system, variable-speed-transmission is realized by using OVSF (orthogonal variable spreading factor) code. OVSF code is the tree-structured spreading code, and therefore concatenated codes in OVSF code are not orthogonal. If a high spreading code is used in concatenated codes and a low spreading codes is requested to assign, its high spreading code is necessary for reassignment to another concatenated codes in order to assign a low spreading code. In this paper, we propose a code assign and reassign method to reduce the code reassignment. In this method, code is divided into two groups and code reassignment between two groups is controlled adaptively. And we clarify the effects of proposed method.
