Abstract(in English) Recently, the upgrade of the network and the speed-up of the processor are advanced. Making to a large capacity and the miniaturization of the memory are also advanced. Portable terminals such as cellular and PDA (Personal Digital Assistance) are becoming leading parts of the Internet connection terminal because of these advancement. Therefore, the cipher function on the portable terminal is indispensable to achieve application to an electronic government and electronic commerce such as the Internet shopping safely. In this paper, the authors propose a simulator as a method of performance evaluation of the cipher in portable terminals, and they describe the validity of a simulator and also the improvement in the speed-up of the cipher from the verification result of the performance evaluation using the simulator.
