Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) When CD-R disks or DVD-R disks are thrown away, they are often destroyed physically to prevent data from leaking out. However, an adversary may be able to read the undestroyed part of data. Encrypting data solves such a problem, but the key management problem appears. Hence, it is desirable to use an encryption scheme such that when a part of the ciphertext is lost, the adversary cannot obtain any information of the plaintext even if the adversary knows the decryption key. In this paper, we propose an encryption scheme with such a property. The proposed encryption scheme has the similar construction to the OAEP. Furthermore, the variable-length-input cipher proposed by Bellare and Rogaway and the encryption scheme done by Jakobsson, Stern, and Yung do not have such a property.
