Stabilization of Moving Belt by a Nonlinear Vibration Absorber

Abstract(in English) Various resonances in an axially moving band are produced by the wheel eccentricities and band imperfection. In this research, we focus on the nonlinear resonances for the first mode of the band span under various rotation speeds of the wheel. We experimentally observe their characteristics and propose a stabilization method for the resonances by using a nonlinear coupling between the belt and a absorber. Experimental results verify the effect of the absorber for the first mode resonance caused from various nonlinear mechanisms.
