Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) An astrocyte (AS) is a cell which plays an important role in brain information processing. In AS, [Ca^<2+>]_i oscillation was induced by the application of glutamate (Glu), a kind of neurotransmitter. The mechanism of the oscillation has not yet been understood well. In the present study, we proposed our oscillation model and studied about the nonlinear characteristics of the model. We observed the cooperative phenomena of AS[Ca^<2+>]_i response by Glu stimulation, the pair-pulse inhibition of the responses, the induction and vanishing of [Ca^<2+>]_i oscillation by Glu stimulation and chaos and entrainment phenomena by the periodic Glu stimulation. It was discussed about the nonlinearity of our Ca^<2+> signaling model..
