Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) For the image compression, various fractal image coding schemes which utilize the self-similarity with a redundancy have been studied extensively. In this report, we will propose a fractal video coding in the frequency domain. In the proposed method, each groups of frames of a video are transformed into the frequency domain to remove correlation (redundancy) of a video in the time domain. Then they will be reordered for every frequency components. Finally, we will encode transformed frames in the frequency domain by 3D fractal video coding scheme. In comparison with the conventional fractal video coding scheme, we may obtain improved video frames at same compression rate.
