Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, the multi-domain method in IFS image coding scheme was put forward by Furusawa and Nakagawa. The multi-domain method may appropriately approximate a range block. Since the discussion focused on the selection of the domain blocks, however, seems to be insufficient, we shall propose an adaptable method of the domain blocks. As a result of coding simulations, for the ITE original image "Church" (8[bits], 256×256[pels]), we may find that the proposed method has an advantage beyond the method proposed by Furusawa and Nakagawa in S/N ratio where bit rate becomes over 2[bpp]. Moreover, we shall propose a hierarchical fractal image coding with multi-domain method. As a result of coding simulations, for the original image "Church", we have found that the S/N ratio increases in which the bit rate is restricted under 1.0[bpp] in comparison to the Jacquin's method.
