Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a new approach for handwritten character recognition using a projection map. The projection map is created by projection of all direction. From projection map, we can detect straight lines or curve lines. The information of the lines is matched with the database to recognize the character. Because the calculation of a projection can be performed in parallel computation, we can expect that this application will be executed on a neural network or parallel processing system.
