Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Pitch ranges of the strings in the guitar overlap each other so that a note can be played at several positions on the fingerboard. Tablature, a musical notation for the guitar, is therefore considered to be effective for assisting beginners to play the guitar, since playable positions are explicitly shown in the tablature unlike in the common musical notation. This study proposes an automated method of generating tablatures from common musical scores. It employs an optimization technique based on genetic algorithms. The effectiveness of the proposed method was investigated thorough some experiments on several pieces of the classical guitar. |
