Abstract(in English) | In this paper, we propose an architecture of Mertopolitan Area Network based on Optical Burst Switching (OBS-MAN). In our proposed OBS-MAN, each node consists of a tunable transmitter and a fixed receiver (TTFR), and transmits bursts on the wavelength assigned for each destination. TTFR has an advantage that can detect conflicts of burst at a transmiter side and causes no conflicts at a receiver side. In addition, since a burst header packet is transmitted ahead of a data burst under JET (Just Enough Time) signaling, transmitting conflicts are detected in advance. By computer simulations^ we evaluate the performance of throughput, queueing delay and probability of transmitting conflicts. As a result, we show the performance effectiveness of our proposed architecture and access protocol. |
