Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, a non-destructive technique for the distributed chromatic dispersion measurement of a concatenated optical fiber link has been presented. The method is based on the analysis of bi-directionally acquired traces of optical time domain reflectometer (OTDR) at different wavelengths. In order to obtain OTDR traces, a concatenated optical fiber transmission link composed of different kinds of single mode fiber has been constructed in the laboratory. All the fibers of different material characteristic have been used, that makes this technique completely nondestructive. This technique is extremely useful for the design of wavelength division multiplexing (WOM) and modern dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWOM) optical transmission systems.
