Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have fabricated a highly birefringent photonic crystal fiber which has a modal birefringence of 2.1 × 10^<-3> and a polarization crosstalk of -48 dB at 1620 nm and maintains polarization for a wide wavelength range from 480 nm to 1620 nm. Little deterioration of the crosstalk occurred even an extremely small bending diameter was applied to the fiber.
