Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Bragg fibers with thin silica-core, below 10 μm diameter, were fabricated by using tapered fiber technology. The mode property of our fiber is considered with the help of transfer matrix method and a band diagram. We show that, in the case of our fiber structure, high-order TM and mixed modes are intercepted by the mode filtering of TM polarization band. In addition, it is found that the fiber supports HE_<11> mode and is able to be treated in single-mode when the light is exited by adiabatic taper shape.
