Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, flexibility of photonic networks is expected to be increased by using a dynamical wavelength routing technology at optical add-drop multiplexers (OADMs) or optical cross connects (OXCs). When signal features such as wavelength count or allocation are changed dynamically in the system using the conventional erbium-doped fiber amplifiers (EDFAs), serious gain variation occurs because of spectral hole burning (SHE) in EDFA. The influence of SHE in EDFA is no longer negligible to design the system. In this report, therefore, we propose the numerical model, which can simulate the effect of SHE in both single-channel and multi-channel amplification of EDFAs.
