Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Adaptive polarization-mode dispersion (PMD) compensation needs monitoring of signal distortion due to PMD. Degree of polarization and power of specific RF spectrum components after detection have been used as the monitor signal. In this paper, we propose a PMD monitoring method by the use of intensity-dependent spectrum broadening in a nonlinear fiber and optical bandpass filtering, and show that the monitor signal correlates well to the signal distortion by numerical simulation and experiment. |
