A Study on TTL Dynamic Control for Efficient Search in P2P Networks

Abstract(in English) Pure P2P systems enable file sharing among users terminals without servers. In Gnutella, a typical example of pure P2P applications, the number of relays of Query packet for information file search is controlled by TTL. By Gnutella, the number of simultaneous connections to the neighboring Peers and TTL control are not taken into consideration. Therefore, Gnutella could be improved in search efficiency. Furthermore, the network load by Query packets is large. In this study, dynamic control of TTL is performed using the previous search result, An efficient search method is proposed which increases in the number of Query Hit packets per Query packet
