Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Numerical analyses on high-speed soliton transmission system of 40Gbit/s-1000km class are carried out with consideration on the chromatic dispersion fluctuation of an installed optical fiber. Effect of periodical compensation of the dispersion fluctuation and that of adaptive dispersion compensator at the receiver end are also numerically discussed. It is demonstrated that the eye opening of the received signal will be severely degraded due to the dispersion fluctuation. The periodical compensation will be effective provided the compensation period is much smaller than the dispersion length associated with the average dispersion. In the case of adaptive dispersion compensation at the receiver end, dispersion applied at the compensator will be distributed mainly in the anomalous region.
