Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A low cost and flexible optical performance monitoring method using eye pattern analysis for highly reliable optical networking is proposed. The monitor outputs were proven to have nearly equal information with a bit error rate through calculation and experiments. We also successfully distinguished the chromatic dispersion induced degradation and nonlinearitybased degradation by our method in a CS-RZ modulated, 43Gbps/ch, 8 WDM signal transmission experiment over 600km True Wave optical fiber.
