Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We introduce a signal quality (Q-factor) monitoring method that uses opened eye-diagrams captured by asynchronous sampling. The use of high-speed asynchronous electro-optical sampling makes fixed timing Q-factor monitoring simple to perform. The method is experimentally compared to the existing averaged Q-factor method. We also explain a simple BER monitoring method for WDM signals. Experimental results using 32-channel wavelength selector based on thermo-optic switch and AWG iare shown. The BER of each channel is estimated from opened eye-diagrams obtained by asynchronous sampling.
