Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In recent years, Optical Burst Switching (OBS) that is one of the swtiching technology in optical networks is coming up. Optical Burst Switching networks can achieve high bandwidth utilization without buffering in intermediate nodes. In the current Internet, multicast which supports one-to-many or many-to-many communication is now a hot research area. Multicast traffic should be one of major traffic in futer optical networks. Multicast traffic includes lots of receivers in nature. This means multicast traffic should be given some priority to unicast traffic which has only one receiver. Based on this policy, we propose a new offset time assignment algorithm for optical burst switching networks. It assigns longer offset time to multicast traffic than unicat traffic. This leads to lower blocking probability for multicast traffic. In this paper, we show some basic performance of the proposed algorithm.
