Abstract(in English) Optical label processing of fast and burst optical packets is the key technology for constructing large-capacity optical packet-switched networks. To realize this, we have developed components that can interface the fast optical labels over 40 Gbit/s with such an intelligent electronic circuit as a CMOS processor. The components are an optical clock-pulse generator (single pulse generator) and an all-optical serial-to-parallel converter. In this paper, we describe the characteristics of these components. We also describe the demonstration of 40-Gbit/s optical label recognition and 1x4 self-routing of optical packets by using these components and a CMOS circuit.
