Wavelength Conversion of Optical Signal Using Side-Band Generation by RF Modulation

Abstract(in English) We proposed the novel approach to wavelength conversion by means of channel selection from the multi-wavelength signal generated by sinusoidal phase and intensity modulation of the input signal. We succeeded in bit-rate-independent and modulation-format-independent wavelength conversion. The strictly transparent wavelength conversion that preserve intensity and phase information is achieved. High-speed wavelength switching of ns order is also attained using SOA gate switches.
