Delay equalizer for simultaneous 3R regeneration of WDM signals

Abstract(in English) We have studied on all-optical simultaneous 3R regeneration of WDM signal using four-wave mixing. In such systems although uniformity of pulse timing arrving to the regenerator is very important, they usually differ due to chromatic dispersion in the transmission line. In this report, we propose a novel device, Delay Equalizing Fiber Bragg Grating (DEFBG), which equalize the group delay difference given to WDM signal in the transmission line. Our computer results show that the proposed DEFBG works fine for delay equalization. The trial fabrication result of the proposed DEFBG is also reported.
