Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In the WDM network system, signal processing can be performed in all optics, and all-optical regeneration technology that is able to be operated at high-speed attracts attentions. We have studied all-optical 3R regenerator which has the ability to handle WDM signals. In this paper, all-optical 3R regenerator using Four-Wave Mixising with dual pumping are proposed and evaluated in regeneration via computer simulations. Compared with 3R regenerator using Four-Wave Mixising with single pumping, regeneration efficiency of the proposed regenerator improved sharply and optical S/N degradation for regeneration using the proposed regenerator is very small. We also report on study of all-optical simultaneous 3R regeneration of WDM signal using four-wave mixing.
