Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Generally the core radius of photonic crystal fibers (PCFs) is equal to air hole pitch Λ when the air hole structure is hexagonal close-packed structure. Its connectivity is bad due to its so small core radius. We analysed dependence between wavelength dispersion and core radius using effective index method when core radius is enlarged than general cases. The result is that dispersion properties of PCF is flat in 1.55μm band when core radius is about a=1.7μm, which does nt depend on d/Λ. In this report, transmission simulation using dispersion properties and MFD which is obtained by analysis was performed. The results show dispersion-flattened PCF is better than ordinary DSF in terms of conversion efficiency of four-wave mixing (FWM).
