Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Loss-less transmission in the optical fiber line is promising since it has possiblity to drastically reduce nonlinear distorition on optical pulses. To realize such a preferable transmission line, we have studied psuedo loss-less transmission system, which consists of distributed fiber raman amplifier with effective core area managenent line. This system aims suppressing signal power change in transmission as low as possible to reduce nonlinear effects in transmission. In this report, a pseudo loss less transmission system using FRA's with bi-directional pumping is studied. Our computer simulation results show that the pseudo loss less system studied here is able to suppress signal power change over 100km transmission to only 1.06dB and it shows little nonlinear effects as low as an ideal loss less system.
