Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We are developing a fast and compact fee-space optical communication system based on a special CMOS-image-sensor-based photo receiver. We have designed and fabricated an image-sensor based photo receiver with 50x50 pixels and four concurrent output channels by use of a 0.35-μm CMOS technology. From the experimental results, we have obtained communication speed of 50 Mbps and 30 Mbps for wavelengths of 650 nm and 830 nm, respectively. By use of the photo receiver, we have executed fundamental experiments of establishing communication path.
