Abstract(in English) We have developed the highly-nonlinear-fiber-based lumped Raman amplifier (LRA) for 4-channel CWDM transmission systems, and evaluated the amplification and transmission characteristics of LRA. We have also fabricated the FRA for 8-channel CWDM transmission systems. By employing the LRA, we have achieved the seamless amplification with a wide bandwidth, which is hard to develop by employing the rare earth doped fiber amplifiers.
