Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) When a concentrated load is applied to a cantilever beam, a uniform strain distribution and a linear one on both its sides are produced. We derive theoretically the shape of the Brillouin gain spectrum under this combined strain distribution, assuming that a BOTDR (Brillouin Optical Time Domain Reflectometer) system is used. We investigate numerically the influence on the spectrum variation of the launched pulse width, which is a parameter giving the measurement condition, and the position on the beam and strain change rate, which are parameters related to the object being measured.
