Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A design of an ultra-high speed transmission system, which utilizes distributed Raman amplification and TDFA in S-band, is reported. Especially, characteristics of the gain spectra for an optically amplified repeater system equipped with high-pump efficiency gain-shifted TDFAs and 1.4-μm pumped distributed Raman amplification are shown in detail. A wide signal gain-band is obtained with a high pump efficiency using the design. A Tbit/s class and long-distance transmission experiment employing a newly developed CSRZ DPSK modulation format is also successfully demonstrated on a DSF line using the design.
