Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Gigabit Ethernet based passive optical network (GE-PON) is effective to realize gigabit access systems that provide more broadband services cost-effectively. To provide real time services such as telephone and video using GE-PON, OUT performs bit, code and frame synchronization every time an upstream frame arrives. To increase transmission efficiency for GE-PON, the overhead size for the synchronization needs to be reduced. In this paper, we propose a new frame synchronization method that allows overhead size reduction as well as frame loss prevention due to signal bit error.
