Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, the integer DCT(Int-DCT), which has the lifting structure and the rounding operation, is attracting many researcher's attention as an effective method for DCT based lossy/lossless unified coding. However, it it not analyzed enough how to express multiplier's word length as short as possible for attaining low computational load. Therefore, we defined a "image sensitivity" as an indicator of how the word length truncation of each coefficient affects quality of the decoded image. This report proposes a method for derive a "image sensitivity", from analyzing a spread process of the finite word length error in the Int-DCT. And, We evaluated the accuracy of the theoretical results, make a comparison the between that and the experiment value.
