Abstract(in English) This report introduces the papers presented at the color plasma display sessions of 2004 SID International Symposium and several remarkable papers are reviewed. The total number of the presented papers was 31 including 18 oral papers and 13 poster papers. The number of the papers was ten affairs fewer than last year. However, these papers covered the important technology issues needed to be developed for the next generation PDF such as the solution technologies for the issues of high operating voltage and addressing time lag by adopting high Xe content to improve the luminous efficacy and the new technologies for high picture quality and also the mechanism of thermal and operating degradation of blue phosphor. Especially, the papers about the discharge cell design and the driving method for the key technologies to improve the luminous efficacy and picture quality occupied about 60% of the whole.
